Silhouette landscape. Tutorial for beginners. step-by-step inside!

Today I want to show you how easily and simply YOU can make a nice painting, which will become a beautiful and original gift at a convenient opportunity for your friend or family. Or you can paint this with your children!

So, today we paint this picture:

For our work we need:

Thick paper.
Brushes (thin and medium thickness, protein or synthetics). The brush of bristles, numbers 7-9) will not hurt.
Watercolor paints. If someone has gouache or acrylic, this will be a good addition.

All landscapes always begin in the same way: we must decide where we will have the horizon line and where the light source is located.

I'll have a light source right here:

Remember, the more water we take with watercolor, the more transparent and light the tone of our paint becomes!

This is our brightest place in the picture (the light source), so we put the paint on a transparent layer. The farther from the light source we impose a color, the more vivid and dark it can be.

Start with a light yellow, then add a dark yellow, gradually turning into an orange color.

Paint we put on a circle from the light source, making it more and more saturated (we take more paint and less water).

To orange we add red color. Closer to the edges of the picture red can be shaded in a colder tone. Add the beet shade:

Next, go to the ground part of our work.

Denote the line of the horizon and the entire earth's surface.

A feature of the silhouette of the landscape is that we do not see the details. That is, the entire silhouette, which we want to draw on this background, becomes a dense fill.

Do you remember when I was talking about gouache or acrylic? You can make a silhouette just by them - the density is guaranteed to you! If there are no other colors - it does not matter, we continue to paint with watercolor.

Fill the earth's space. For the silhouette, I recommend mixing in roughly the same proportions black (or dark blue) and brown. So you give the maximum dark tone to the brown paint and your silhouette will be in a warm-brown tone, and not deadly black if you take it in its pure form.

If the paint does not fit tight the first time, do not worry. Allow to dry this layer and you can apply the paint again.

Now go to the very silhouette. There is already free will! Want - elephants and baobabs, you want - houses and forests, you want - figures of lovers. Or even a cake with candles! At sunset, everything looks beautiful and romantic!

Here we also draw a tree. And birds for romance :) And even the bush under the tree!

And now, with the final chord, so that we do not have so uninhabited on our planet, we add a few leaves to the horizon of the forest and to the tree.

To do this, it is best to use a brush made of bristles or other coarse hair. A dry brush is dipped in the paint (we try to paint only on the tip of the brush) and then "stuff" the wood and leaves of the trees. It is important that the paint is not too liquid.

If there is no coarse brush, you can do the same with a crumpled napkin or a piece of foil. The prints will be slightly different, but you should like the result!
