Visual aggression of a modern city

Modern architecture worsens the visual environment of the city. This is due to the fact that a set of constructive elements has changed: the set uses straight lines, right angles and large planes. In addition, the architecture has a huge number of homogeneous and aggressive fields. All this creates an unfavorable visual environment in which the mechanisms of vision can not fully function.

To the problem of videoecology, we came as a result of a long (more than 30 years) study of the mechanisms of visual perception and, in particular, the study of the mechanism of eye movements. Eye movements consist of slow and rapid movements, called saccades. We measured three parameters of saccades: amplitude, interval and orientation. For our reasoning, the intervals between the saccades are of great interest. Studies have shown that during the sleep of an adult, and during a baby's sleep, the intervals between saccades are the same.
