Greetings everyone!

This afternoon while having a walk to the small vegetable market found just 2 minutes away from my bistro, I noticed a village man selling fresh corns along the road - This is the beauty of being in a village!

Another post will surely follow on these corns...

For now let me show you a little bit of how they look like...
I bought more than 20 pcs of these to be served to guests coming to my bistro these two days, I will see if people will be interested with them or not!

The great news is that we will be getting these beauties for the next 3 months at least, so it's time for me to use the max of them and in the same time try some new recipes!

So actually in Mauritius, the most famous way to eat corn on the cob is to simply boil it with salted water until soft! When done, you just enjoy them like that, which is for sure so yummy!
Others apply some salted butter on the corn which is again a great idea!

Other than that I don't know any other famous way of preparing them! But I do know nearly everyone has their way of preparing corn on the cob!

I have started 3 different tests already on them earlier today...

DSC_0037.JPG

  • I boiled some same as the classical Mauritian way - count like 20-25 minutes in boiling salted water!
  • The second way is that I peeled one and grill it directly on the fire.
  • And the 3rd test is grilling it with the husks on!

On the grilled ones, I put a homemade honey mustard butter and it went perfectly together!

I like corn on the cob with sour cream, parmesan cheese and paprika. When corn is in season in the Midwest USA, it is so delicious. It cooks up very quickly and can be eaten with literally nothing on it!

here is the secret for fresh corn, 1:30 in the microwave on high in the husk. seems like sacrilege, but it is delicious.

This is new to me my friend, I have never tried them in the microwave, I am so curious to know how they will be!
I will surely try it soon!
Thanks so much for sharing your secret!

you probably won't want to bother boiling it again after.

super cool the flavor that the corn on the grill, is unique, and if you add butter with sugar gives a sweet touch very delicious!

Butter and sugar or honey really gives corn a great flavor! Thanks so much for commenting on my post my friend!
Cheers!

here in Venezuela we call it jojoto and we have several ways to do it the most popular is in cachapa, the scraps of the grains and the tender grains are scraped, they are passed through a mill, then sugar is placed, milk is beaten all, and thrown in a pan and are like pizza dough lugo is butter and cheese and vuala is exquisite everything is depending on taste and creativity. from everyone. @ progresivechef

Hiya my friend! I have to catch up on your blog and see where are you right now...
You are right btw , when we have it too much we tend to get fed up with it! But I am sure if I prepare one for you...you will jump with joy!!!

a very fun way to eat corn, or jojoto as we say here in my country, apart from the girls of the house who love it.

I would love to know how you eat them in Venezuela!

Hi @progressivechef ! Do you still accept SBD and Steem in your restaurant?
Have you found the promotional material you were looking for regarding steem and steemit. You can find it here: promo-steem.com

Have you thought of ways to motivate people to pay you with steem on the restaurant, like adding special discounts when paying with steem?

Regards, @gold84

Hello my friend! Oh yes I still accept SBD and Steem in my restaurant! Thanks so much for sharing the link, i will check it out!
You know, right now not so many people are aware of crypto/steem/steemit etc...I am in the teaching mode! I am looking forward to some developments by the end of this year...it will be long but I am positive in getting some people start using crypto as payment in my bistro!
Of course there will be some special discounts for Steemians!

I prefer grilled corn! :)

Grilled corns are actually the best! Thanks so much for stopping by my friend!

This is very delicious and healthy. We used to eat it with lemon juice, salt and red chilli.

Oh yes, this sounds very mouthwatering indeed...lemon/salt and red chili! Hmmm this is something I can easily try out!
Thanks for the idea my friend!

That sounds good!
