Question: Does voting power affect author reward?
Lately I have been fully-using all my voting power as it can be seen on Steemdb:
My question is does this affect my author reward, the reward that I get from posting ,not curation? Since I saw that people who have full voting power, like 50% and such can pay themselves 5-10$/comment, while my upvotes barely make 0.30$.
So the voting power does affect the comments, so I suppose it does affect the author rewards too.
But I am not asking whether it affects my post's upvote, what I am asking whether I get a penalty on other people's votes if I don't keep my voting power up.
Like I don't know like a handicap if I don't keep my voting power up, but from other people's votes.
So does me keeping low voting power reduce the steem power of the other people voting on my post?
Hi @profitgenerator,
No, it does not affects your author rewards. People are voting on your post and you get paid.
The reason you won't be paid for this post because you were choosing "Decline Payout" when you submitted it.
There are three rewards options in the lower right corner when you write your post:
If you choose "Default" you have to be aware that your payout amount depends on the actual price of Steem and Steem Dollars.
If you have more questions, feel free to ask.
I understand that, but about 1 week ago I had like 10% voting power, now it hovers around 2%, since more people are posting so my curation bot is overworking.
But I week ago on average I had like 10% more payouts, and now it's 10% less, so I was wondering whether it had to do with that.
Since than the Steem price has fallen, therefore there is less money in the reward pool (well, same amount but worth less), so everyone get paid less.
A week ago I had a post made me $50, yesterday I got paid $30 for that.
It is not connected with your Steem Power. Just a coincident.
I see, I was wondering about the price movement as well, but its better to make sure it's not my curation that is causing the problems.
Why is your payment barred?
i dont know that is why i am asking
Im wondering that too!
An answer I would also like to know and I suspect the answer is no. You see curation percentage of 1% and you see the same steemian on many post. I think these curation votes are placed by voting bots.
Therefore why reduce your voting power and share a smaller part of the corresponding curation reward. If I am wrong on my assumption please enlighten me.
