Journey of an Ambitious Girl...

in OCD4 years ago

Hello everyone, Hope you are having a good day ...

Today I am going to share a story, a real story that started in 2017. A girl, who was happy with her job, was working as a junior architect suddenly took a decision to study further, not even that she decided to leave the country. Why?? was she not happy with her life, was she done something bad, why she decided to leave her family and society...

And the story begins...

This is a real story, a story of a foreign student, a story of me. I have written some posts where I talked about my post-graduation but in this post, I am going to share the story. 2017 while doing a job, I suddenly took the decision for further studies for several reasons. It's not like I was not happy with my job or anything like that, I had a good job but few society reasons I took that decision to do something for myself. I wanted to be independent, I wanted to see respect in people's eyes for me, I wanted to hear my name with respect.

Many people asked me, why Ukraine?? Okay, in three months I had taken my decision and finished all the visa process because that time two things were in my head. I was stubborn about the matter of leaving country and do something for myself. On the other hand, I didn't want to be burden on my father as I have a younger sister and the tuition fees of Ukraine was cheap and I realized that I can finish my study timely.

I cried a lot while leaving my country, in fact, you know I choose this country for another reason. I was prepared to give myself a new life, a new me. New people, new culture. You can't believe right but this is the reality. Here, I never knew a single person, nobody was familiar to me, no friends no relatives nothing. So, I started my life from zero and you know what zero means. Well, did I face money issues? yes, I did. Did I face legal documents issues? Of course, I faced. Nobody can realize the mental situation of a foreign student.

When I first came here, I didn't know anyone, not even a single superstore where I will find and buy food for myself. I was in a hotel for 4 days and I live on juice and bread. After that, I shift into the hostel and 1 week later I found an apartment for myself. One person helped me searching for that apartment which I am still living. I still remember I used to cry the whole night but never show my dad that I am weak. My dad, my sister used to support me inspired me a lot.

Today, I have friends, I know some people here, I know a little bit Russian language, I know the currency and I know some places of Kharkiv.

Study life, hmm let's talk about it. First, I was in another institution when I came here and then I shifted myself and took admission to Masters. As I wanted to get a degree in management so I decided to do a Masters in Management. Student life was hectic especially when I had to deal with my documents. I had an agent and because of my agent's fault, I had to suffer a lot dealing with legalizations. Even on one point, I thought I wouldn't be able to complete my Master's and my all dreams will be broken.

Even some people told my dad that your daughter is not gonna be able to complete her study and she will be back in the home with nothing, she is wasting your money. I had to convince my family as well and gave an invitation letter to my dad to visit me and see all the conditions in person. It's not about trust, it was a communication gap. But I am happy that my dad currently understands me and never asks me any question. He knows that I will explain to him if anything happens.

Everything happens for a good reason, we just need to wait for the right time with patience.

I am glad that three years back I have taken a decision which is worth it. I didn't choose a housewife's life, instead, I choose my dream. I gave my dream a chance, I chase my goals and achievements. Am I too ambitious?? I don't think so. My best friend, my dad, my sister feel proud of me, my dad can say everyone about me, now everyone is silent, my society's mouth is shut because I gave the answer.

I wish every girl from my country get a chance to fulfill their dream, some can't because of society, some because of fear. But it's okay, maybe one day they will gather some courage to take steps for their dreams to fulfill.
