WHO ARE YOU:@princedone - NOT HEAD KNOWLEDGE
Read: Matt 16:15-17
15 He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?
16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.
17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.
Here again we find the same principle. You can only know who you are by the revelation of the Holy Spirit. Jesus confirms to Peter that people nor books could not have given him that revelation.
This is also the same thing with you. If the Holy Spirit has not revealed who you are, then what ever you get from flesh and blood and books will only be a good guess.
There is a huge difference between head knowledge and revelational knowledge. Here is the best way I can explain and differentiate them. Most people know of Jesus as the Son of God. Most people know he came to die for salvation of mankind. That is head knowledge.
However, when the Holy Spirit reveals this same information to you, it leads to repentance and salvation – not for mankind but for you personally. Revelations have an impact on your spirit not just your mind.
Peter and the other disciples had a head knowledge of Jesus. It was at this spot that Peter had the revelational knowledge. For Thomas that revelational encounter came two weeks after the Resurrection of Jesus.
It is also possible that you have a head knowledge of who you are but until it becomes revelational knowledge it does not carry that compelling force that will redefine you and make you act in a specific way.
In all the encounters we see in the bible, God had to find a way of going beyond the head of the individual to his heart and spirit.
