Primary Series Sunday (Yoga)
Ashtanga yogis are supposed to practice primary series on Fridays. I generally rest of Friday, so I practiced primary series today. The final posture (Setu Bandhasana) looked really scary when I first started Ashtanga many moons ago (2013?). It took some months before I felt comfortable trying the poses. It took many more months before I felt comfortable in the posture. Years later, it's no big deal. Looking at the posture, it still makes me cringe. Is it safe for my neck?? Of course, it is. I'm just fine practicing this posture. ThoughtI'd post a picture for my steemit friends :)
I am not advanced yet. But great work :)
Nice work. There are no ashtanga classes around me, was in my old place. Need to find another teacher. Hopefully have a friend in India who is joining who might post some good lessons .
I’ve taken workshops when I can, but there’s not much ashtanga in my area either. Plus, I have very little time to go to classes being a working mom. I’m 98% a home practitioner. Videos/books, mirrors, and watching videos of myself have been my main sources of learning. I also have an ashtanga leaning power teacher who is amazing. I get to take class from him a few times a month.
Yep i'm going to have to find a new online source I think, but more advanced. Any suggestions ?
Check out kino yoga. She has videos on omstars and Cody app
Will do thanks :)
Happy practicing:)
omg! it really looks scary. Are you keeping something below your hips? Sorry if the question sounds stupid.
No
That is the one posture I don't do. I hurt my neck a while ago (not doing this) and then never went back to it. I'm just not convinced that it's that great for you.
Impressive....
