THE FAITH ABOVE A MUSTARD SEED
Let me give you an example: I once asked God to raise my aunt who had been dead for more than 5years or so back to life. Can you imagine?! The thing is, I was told by my mum that it was this aunt of mine who paid the hospital bills when I was born but then she died a year later.
I felt so bad that I didn't get a chance to say thank you or buy her a car or a house. So I spent more than 2years of my life asking God over and over again to bring back my aunt because I have read that He raised Lazurus from the dead and this shouldn't be any different. Don't blame me I was just 5 or there about, never been told that people don't come back to life like that and I was raised to believe that if I ever needed anything from God, all I had to do was ask and He would do it.
Well, as you can guess right, this one never happened and as years went by I got tired of asking and I thought to myself "maybe God doesn't want to do this one for a reason". But then as I grew up into adulthood I realized even more that it's not because it was impossible for God to raise my aunt from the dead but it's because it wasn't needed at that time and when the rapture shall happen we will all rise with our Lord. Both the living and the dead. Besides can you guys imagine what would have happened if God had done this request of mine? Everyone would have definitely freaked out! Hahahaha.
But the lesson I want to carve out here is that, this childhood experience of mine has taught me to always think beyond the impossible when it comes to God. If I could ask God for such a ridiculous thing how much more the not-so-ridiculous things now that I am older. Because I have noticed that as we grow older we tend to behave like we are too mature for God.
We feel that asking him for little things doesn't matter and we can do everything on our own. Nooooo. While I am of the believe that God has given us a brain to work with and we don't necessarily have to bother him for smaller things again, I also believe we should at least say THANK YOU LORD for any step we are about to take. Without Him we wouldn't even have the breath of life how much more a brain.
