confront and conquer #1
Bible Reading Deuteronomy 2:24-31
In Deuteronomy 2:24, God commanded Moses and the Israelites, thus, "Rise up, take your journey, and pass over the river Arnon: behold, I have given into thine hand Sihon the Amorites, king of Heshbon, and his land begin to possess it, and contend with him in battle". The word "Confront" and the word " conquer", are military terms that convey the idea of conflict and victory. The word, "Contend" means struggle to surmount, especially a difficulty. The word " Conquer" means to overcome and control ( especially a place or a people or a thing) by military force. Every Christian must understand that we are in a constant spiritual battle against forces of evil (Ephesians 6:10-12). Every true Christian is a soldier of Jesus Christ (2Timothy2 : 3). A good soldier is trained; he does not go to war unprepared; he is not careless and he does not mix up any how with civilians(2Timothy2:4); he is vigilant, brave, bold and courageous (2Timothy1:7); he is always battle ready because his enemy is always ready to attack without warning; he is not always on the defensive and he is always prepared with his weapons. These are true of soldiers of Jesus Christ. Be battle ready and be ready to rise up and confront all things troubling your life, family, health, finance or academics in warfare prayers. Good Day.
