Establishment Not Ready: Brexit Could Be Delayed

in #brexit10 years ago (edited)

It is looking like Britain may not be so quick to be leaving the European Union, as we suspected when we first reported on the surprising Brexit vote result. Britain now might not leave the EU until 2019, as some ministers have been reported as saying that Brexit departments are “not ready” yet for the transition.

Prime Minister Theresa May has said that she isn't likely to invoke Article 50 until a formal two-year process has taken place which is required for divorcing the bloc. May says that the country needs time to prepare for the negotiations and that is why despite citizens voting for the leave on June 23rd, they might not get their wish for several years to come.

Elections that are scheduled to take place in Germany during September, and within France in May, could also play a role in pushing back the timing of when Britain might invoke Article 50 which would more formally signal their departure. It is alleged that British government ministers have warned various senior figures in the City of London that Article 50 will not likely be triggered until at least 2017 because for now the government situation is too “chaotic” to move forward with such a plan.

For anyone who was eager to see Britain leave, it's tough luck for them and they'll just have to wait until this whole mess sorts its self out. Britain has already established two new government departments that are going to be able to deal with the leave from the EU and they are led by David Davis and Liam Fox. For now, May insists that leaving the EU is a top priority, even if the process is going to take quite a bit of time in order to sort out completely.

I don't understand it. Press For Truth is a very reputable source of alternative media and with 53 votes it's only sitting at $1.00. Where a single stolen photo off the internet has netted $100s or more for people. I don't understand Steemit at all. I hope this all gets sorted out or people will start walking away from Steemit altogether - Like Press For Truth

Brexit would not be a big deal to the euro zone if the financial markets weren't so unstable.

How can something be unstable if it has central banks backstopping it at any hiccup along the way?

Mr. Farage will you come out of retirement?

The Brexit hasn't even happened yet, but the establishment already blames all of the problems with the UK economy on it. Hilarious!

It seems the stock market knew that before anyone else judging by it's 16% rally immediately following the vote...

Theresa May - "Yeah, we looked into that freedom you voted for, and now is not a good time, so please go back to obeying the un-elected bureaucrats"

i think they will drag it out till the people have changed there mind from getting bombarded by fear propaganda about how the sky is going to fall when artical 50 is inacted. it should have been inacted the next morning after the vote was decieded.

And if the Remainians can throw up a few roadblocks along the way it may never happen at all.

Why do people continue to think the elected officials are in charge when central banks are writing all the checks?

FYI love that pic of Rothschild.. Cheers
