Today is Bitcoin's birthday!

A user named Satoshi Nakamoto ([email protected]) announced his/her paper on a new electronic cash system. That message is still available here and his paper here on the original bitcoin.org domain.

Now on it's 9th Birthday, it reached over $101 Billion of market capitalization, influenced more than a gazillion coins based on its original concept, more than 3 million users and reached an all time high (ATH) of over $6,000 (guess what the exact number is?.... continue reading to find out!) but in spite of the numbers and statistics, a lot of us are still puzzled of what is bitcoin?

Beyond it's complexity, one cannot deny the simplicity on how it was presented. In celebration of the genius behind Satoshi Nakamoto Let us enjoy the beauty of the numbers from his announcement here.

• It took him/her to summarized and present bitcoin in 288 words, 1,429 characters (without spaces) and in 49 sentences.
• If we include the spaces, 1,703 characters will fill up the 33 paragraphs comprising an average sentence length of 5.9 words at a 1.6 syllables per word. That's 464 syllables in a message!
• The longest words were participants and transactions with 12 characters each. Coincidentally, there are 12 words in the longest sentence.
• Out of 154 unique words, he used 102 short words which formed two basic concepts, proof of work appeared 5 times and peer to peer equally appeared 5 times.
• The average reading time is 2 minutes and according to this it will take you only 3 minutes to utter the entire message!
• Interestingly, the word peer is the top keyword density with 3.5%, this is followed by proof which appeared 8 times and network for 7 times. Blockchain's basic elements ?
• As of today, October 31, 2017, on it's 9th birthday, 1 bitcoin have reached an all-time-high of .... (the sum of all the bold numbers)
