WHAT IS RESPONSIBILITY?

According to the dictionary, responsibility is; The state or fact of being, answerable, or accountable for something within one's power, control, or management.

We all have a duty to perform, One way or the other. It could be at home, work e.t.c. How are you performing your duty? Are you actually doing the right thing or not?

Some of us are now used to shifting responsibility, or postponing our duties. It is imperative for us to do whatever we are supposed to do, when we should. Procrastination as they say ;"is a thief of time".

If you fail to perform your duty, you may be putting someone or something in grave danger and jeopardy.

Do not make excuses as to why you couldn't act. Make that conscious attempt to take up the responsibility you have.

STORY POINT

There were three giant men which were nearby when a girl was crying for help in a because she was about to be rape.

The three of them were busy trying to break into a house, and because they know what they were doing is also wrong and they don't want to be caught, they remained silent and couldn't help the girl. The girl got raped and when they heard the story from some persons on the community, they realised they were in that vicinity when the incident took place.

These three men represents those of us who are so busy in our own lives that we can't recognize when someone else is in need!

Next story talks about a boy who was drowning in the river, A man standing close by couldn't be of help as he just watched the boy drowned and couldn't do anything because he felt he can't swim and was scared of the water, it took up to 6 minutes before the boy finally went down into the river with no sign of him anymore. That was when he realised he could've call for help from people who were not far away.

This man represents those of us who say I can't do anything now. The conditions aren't right and so we just stay and fold our hands.

Last story talks about a mother of 3 children who is a steemian. The mother who's been on steemit for over 6 months and have been doing good for herself in terms of earning on posts, now see steemit as an an important factor and more important than her family. The mother now take improper care of her children because she'll always want to socialise and try to become a whale forgetting she's got some reposnsbilities to take care of. This mother here represent those of us who placeother things above the more important things we should do.

TAKE HOME

Obstacles and reasons to avoid responsibility shall always be there, but those who accept it always find a place in the hearts to be remembered for the world of good they do.

I really wish that we all could take our time and try to do the right thing at the right time. this world could be a more beautiful place to live in.
