The Little Girl at the Window

The Little Girl at the Window or the "හරි පුදුම ඉස්කෝලේ is one of the best novels i've ever read in my life. As I remember I read this for the first time when I was grade 4 or five. I had to give time for me to be a big girl and understand what this book really said.

As a little girl I loved kobayashi Guruthuama and totto chan even I didn't get the full meaning of this amazing, heart touching story. My love for Kobayashai guruthuma was increased day by day like a little plant as um getting older and in my entire life I couldn't find him in this real world. So this is all about the "Girl at the window"!

Author of this book is Tetsuko Kuroyanagi who is called as Totto chan in the story. This is a real world story which happened in Japan a long time ago. It's based on Tetsuko's school life. Totto chan is a little girl who had to leave many of her schools because of her naughty behaviour. Finally she was found by that kind teacher and his school "Tomo" and gave the life this little caterpillar deserved.

In the whole story Tetsuko has told about her kind teacher who was living as a moon in all the little hearts in that school. Um pretty sure that you will be amazed by this teacher and his teacher things. He is not a father, he is a teacher. The most important thing is he had known the meaning of a teacher and treated all his students in a same manner.

In the last chapter Tetsuko has told about current situation of each and everyones in that school and they all have had an heartwarming story with their excellent teacher Mr Kobayashi.

My personal opinion is every teacher in Sri Lanka must read this book. They should learn through the book. Tetsuko has promised that the everything in the story is true and no imaginations at all!
