Should Farmer 👨‍🌾 switch to Organic Farming to increase their income??

in #prameshtyagi8 years ago (edited)

Farmers all across india 🇮🇳 are the least earning and most distressed 😟 class while they are the ones who provide the most basic need for humanity to survive i.e. FOOD 🥘.

All through recent years they were convinced by successive governments to produce more and more by using toxic chemicals used in fertiliser and insecticide.

All these practices have resulted in reduced return to farmers and toxic farm produce leading to health issues to consumers.

Recent studies show that overall the agricultural produce prices rising less than other products as shown in below graphs

And Another study shows that organic farming is much more profitable than conventional farming shown in below charts

The demand and supply economics easily explains above behaviour. Therefore, it can easily be concluded that to earn higher profits farmers should switch to organic farming. It will lead to reduced production resulting in less supply and because of increasing population the demand will rise - this will lead to higher profitability and earning.

On top of that the organic farm produce will be free of toxics leading to reduced health issues and health related expenses. A win- win situation for all.

organic farming is the way to go i have seen seem how commercial farming destroys the soil and leads to lower yealds as time go by, and the chemicals used have a bad effect on both the human body and the enverionment. we should encourage organic farming

I agree with your argument. May the Indian government hear
