THE ORIGIN AND FALL OF EVIL SPIRITS Part 5. ( HOW DEMONS GET INTO PEOPLE)

This part 4 is devoted to examine some of the ways evil Spirits enter into their victims and how to identify such people. It is very necessary for the reader to understand what I am going to say in this section so that you will know how to help deliver those who are suffering from any demonic problem. Again it will help you to discover and destroy every link you have with demons either by inheritance or by personal contacts and guard against any possibility of giving place to the devil in your life.

Here are some of the possible ways demons can gain entrance into people.

A. BY INHERITANCE:

Families that worship idols are under the influence of all kinds of demonic activities. The spiritual choice of parents can affect the lives of their children up to four generations either for good or bad; listen to what God said in Exodus 20:3-5

“Do not worship any other gods besides me. Do not make idols of any kind whether in the shape of birds or animals or fish. You must never worship or bow down to them. For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God who will not share your affection with any other gods! I do not leave unpunished the sins of those who hate me, but I punish the children for the sins of their parents to the third and fourth generations. But I lavish my love on those who love me and obey my commands, even for a thousand generations. (Exo. 20:3-5 NLT).

You can see that some people are suffering from what their fore fathers did while they were alive. The story of Elisha and Gehazi is another example to this fact. (2 Kings 5:27).

For any deliverance to be complete, the deliverance minister must go back to four generations as we have seen above.

b. DEDICATION OF CHILDREN TO DEITIES AFTER BIRTH:

Some tribes in Africa, parents would like to go to fortune tellers after a child is born in the family to find out who incarnated into the new child. This leads to making some ritual worship and initiations on behalf of that child. Sometimes, the child would be dedicated to a deity and thereby linking him to demons. In fact, some of the native names given to people from such tribes are the names of dead ancestors they believed to have re-incarnated into these children and as long as they bear these names, they will be having demonic influences. No amount of efforts exerted in conducting deliverance to a person will yield any meaningful result.

Therefore, deliverance ministers should be bold enough to ask everybody they are counseling for deliverance the source of his or her name.

PARENTAL INFLUENCE:

The attitude of some parents can open doors for demons to take possession of their children. Any family where the husband is treating his wife with contempt, beats and abuses her or vice versa, will surely breed rebellious spirit.

“For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every work” (James 3:16).

Children who grow up in such environment easily develop hatred, insecurity and fear. The female children may hate men in general and may never like to marry just because of what their father has done to their mother. Boys likewise may resent women.

C. FEAR

There are two types of fear:
 Positive fear - that leads a person to respect his parents, elders and constituted authority. It is also called fear of the Lord, because, it leads people to fear God and depart from evil.

 Negative fear - we inherited this fear in the Garden of Eden when Adam and Eve sinned against God. Gen. 3:1-9;

Adam’s guilty conscience brought this negative fear into the world and this fear can open door to demons. Some of this fear stem from the superstition of our heathen cultures. Demons can also use past problems such as accidents or death of a close relation to traumatize us.

Any negative fear opens door to the devil. Some fear the sight of a corpse at a funeral service. Whatever may be the cause of any negative fear, demons are involved. The exception is the fear of God which we call positive fear. As the Bible says fear brings torment and is the evidence of imperfect love towards God. (1 Jn. 4:18; 2 Tim. 1:7).

SIN:

Sin is another thing that easily opens door to demons. When a person commits fornication or adultery, demons of lust will come inside him and he will begin to experience an intense desire to commit more. Any sin you commit opens door to the demon that is responsible for that sin and usually it would not come alone. Judas was a Christian before he was appointed treasurer by Jesus. When he started to steal money from the purse, he did not realize that it would open door to demons and lead him to betraying Jesus.

A simple desire to make more money opened him up to avarice. (Luke 22:3). Annanais and his wife also opened door for a lying spirit by telling what we may term a small lie. The result was fatal (Acts 5:1 -11).

LAYING OF HANDS:

Through the laying of hands on people one can contact demons. Never submit yourself to ministers or persons you don’t know very well to lay hands on you. Many have, through this, contacted or gotten possessed by demons. A person who lives in fornication has evil influence over him and that can easily affect his client as he lay hands on him.

IDLE WORDS:

I have heard many people in times of difficulties or provocation, call on death to take them away some declare their desire to commit suicide. Such idle words give room to demons to take over one’s life and bring one’s words into actualization

“Death and life are in the power of tongue and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof” (Pro. 18:21).

Therefore, be careful how you talk.

OCCULTISM:

Through occultism and fetish materials and objects one can contact demons. Some of the magazines, charms and rings people buy and read or put on sometimes without knowing the source can be the sources of demonic attack in their lives.
