Proverbs 16:18(KJV)
Says that Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.
Pride is an inwardly directed emotion that carries two opposing meanings. With a negative connotation pride refers to a foolishly and irrationally corrupt sense of one's personal value, status or accomplishments.
With a positive connotation, pride refers to a humble and content sense of attachment toward one's own or another's choices and actions, or toward a whole group of people, and is a product of praise, independent self-reflection, and a fulfilled feeling of belonging. It is a feeling of deep pleasure or satisfaction derived from one's own achievements, the achievements of one's close associates, or from qualities or possessions that are widely admired. Let us look at the negatively proud man.
A proud man is the most terrible person in this world. He is a brother and companion to satan. God hates a proud person. Pride shuts the door of favour, destroys the opportunity that will announce you in life (see Ezekiel 16:49a).
A proud man can never experience grace. Grace is the ability of God invading our inabilities. Pride is a disaster that leads to shame. Pride makes you live a fake life and it is the mother of all sins. It makes a man to miss good opportunities. A proud man has appointment with disaster, the sin of pride aborts privileges in life.
• A proud man is pleasure driven, he is self-dependent and feels he does not need anybody’s help or assistance.
CONSEQUENCES OF BEING PROUD:
• Pride will always put you on the floor.
• Pride settles you in a lifestyle of disfavor.
• Pride terminates your privileges and opportunities.
• Punishment on earth and eternity is the reward of every proud man.
• Pride makes your senior your junior.
• Pride disfigures a man as he begins to walk abnormally (read Hebrew 12:24).

Child of God, may I remind you that God exalts the humble and despises the proud. Humility will take you far but pride will bring you down no matter how far you have gone or how much you have achieved.

Father, take away the spirit of pride in me, help me to live a humble life so I can please you in all my actions in Jesus name.
