Bangalore trip #Day2!

in #photography6 years ago (edited)

It is early morning as I was quite tired to post about my second day yesterday so Here I am fresh in the morning before starting my day I wanted to share the last day.
We hired a car for two days , we drove all the way to watch and admire the architecture of -

Chennakesava Temple!

Chenna means Beautiful
Kesva means Lord Vishnu

This is how the temple was named it preached lord Vishnu. But unfortunately due to Muslim Armies invasion the idols were broken and desecrated which is why the idols were no longer preached. But this became an archaeological site due to its breathtaking architecture.
I being an architect was so fascinated by the details of the construction. it was breathtaking I didn't loose a single opportunity to click pictures and store them with me.

This is the front view
Unfortunately I couldn't stop people from entering into my frame but this shows that I wasn't isolated over there, others were present too to visit the temple , I could find many foreigners, many south Indians and few of North Indians like us.
By the way this temple is classic example of famous Hoyasala Architecture. Basically there is a small town of Somanathapura on the banks of river Kaveri Where this mesmerizing temple is located. This was consecrated back in 1258 CE.
There were several columns with different designs, the ceiling was amazing it was divided into blocks and each block have different designs let me show some pictures depicting this truth.

Actually the main temple is in the center on a high platform which is enclosed in a courtyard with a pillared corridor of small shrines.

It was divine experience My friend doesn't believed in god but she accompanied me along to this place just for its architecture importance. But I have faith in God and architecture both which made this journey worthwhile.
You should too go over there the palm trees, the beautiful place, the nice people (we didn't understood their language which is Kannada neither they understood ours which is Hindi, but still we could communicate through little bit English and little bit sign language :P) Overall It was really nice experience.
I used my Canon 700 D for the pictures
