That's a great idea and a good perspective for other usecases of this platform .When I first joined this is what I had in mind. To put in some cash each month to secure a good future for myself.

Even though I'm just 23 I plan on saving my Steem for a long time, maybe not until retirement, but at least 10-20 years :)

Thank you. I read so many posts in the short time I have been here that are complaining about how difficult it is, hating on whales etc. I am hoping some of them will see this and realize how much power is in their own hands to make something here. Whales deserve a bigger slice of the pie, they have the stake in this place. It would be similar to me complaining Bill Gates had a larger voice with Microsoft than I do since I bought one or two of the stock. I am hoping to offer a perspective that if used correctly every one of us could be a whale one day, even if nothing grew. But it will grow, so many ways it will grow.

You are smart to plan on your retirement now while you are so young. I wish I could have been that smart at your age. I was to busy reacting to my life instead of making it. I am especially impressed that you are using your influence here to help others up. I plan on being where you are at in the next year as my growth here continues. You are planting seeds, willing to be patient as you nurture those in your growing circle. Thank you.

I would love to see some projections as to what happens when the Steem price goes up along with the growth of the audience and a generous helping of suckups.

Love the term, by the way. It is perfectly applicable to a huge swath of voters here in the Steemit universe.

and a generous helping of suckups.

Yeah, I figure they will be the accelerant I need once I have enough invested into my account here. I tried to be careful in my analyses not to make any projections on factors like price fluctuating up, followers etc while reminding that those forces are at play.

Out of all the alts this was the one that gave me the bug. I saw a reason an average person had a use for the blockchain. Until this becomes the norm I think most will be skeptical about crypto as a whole, especially given how many lost their shirts when it popped not that long ago. I imagine anyone who bought into Bitcoin at 20k wants to explode when they hear the word HODL.

I've thought quite extensively about cryptos in general and Steemit in particular. I agree with your ideas. It is one of the few cryptos that seems to have a specific usage. I do a lot of internet marketing with my day job and the thing I find exciting is the sheer volume of content that is building up under the steemit url. That is invaluable (even if a bunch of it is garbage) and Google will reward the steemit url with high organic search rankings. I expect Steemit to really take off once it reaches the top 500 or so on Alexa rankings of websites.

Reddit is ranked as #6 worldwide as the most used website. I think Steemit can reach at least the top 100 eventually with the volume of info that is being posted on a daily basis. That is why I am putting quite a bit of effort into this blockchain--fingers crossed that is helps provide a decent retirement for me one day.

I pointed this out after my first week here in a comment somewhere. I noticed the title for my blog was the number one link showing in Google. Hasn't been the case for most of them, but for someone who understands Google this could be a treasure when it comes to organic traffic from outside the site itself.

I do hope that some of this wild west aspect solves itself though as the whales battle one another. I am not sure there is a fix for it though, nor how they are going to solve the bandwidth issues. I am guessing that many who come here will tend to lean more conservatively for awhile as they are chased from the more established venues that are censoring them. Even Reddit has been involved in censorship.

Sorry for the long reply, but wanted to add one more observation. We are seeing big companies moving or expressing interest into moving into crypto, and with Goldman Sachs recently aquiring Poloniex this will do nothing but aid in solidifying crypto. Even RobinHood is trading it now.

So I do believe this will be a great retirement, and I am a natural skeptic.

I try and stay as far away from these titanic struggles as I can. I don't think I understand the true motivations of most of the battles, so I don't feel I can contribute in any beneficial manner.

I was so excited to see this the other day! I think it portends well for the crypto space.

I like long answers--no need to apologize. I think the best of Steemit is found in true conversation. Thanks for your thoughts and ideas. I enjoyed the conversation.
