The Sleepless Night…

Suddenly awoken with the sound of random words or noises flying aimlessly around the maze that is my mind.

…realizing the words are those that my husband, partner, lover, is muttering in his sleep.

Asleep, he is laying peacefully half covered with the glow of his Mac Air providing enough light to light the massive factories where tiny hands assembled it. Even with the brightness at its lowest level it is disturbing my alien sleep cycle.

Awoken with these words and sounds running banging into one another but with no reason to be connected...I went out to get my phone to take my aimless notes to reassemble into some form of coherence at a later date.

I did not think I could endure yet more light so I'm scratching notes one finger at a time in portrait on notepad on my android...hearing random noises from the sleeping apartment...the fridge with its low hum...low but not really low enough.

The cat’s water fountain drinking bowl with its pump and the sound of trickling water like an annoying, noisy waterfall. Fog horns from ships passing in the night along the Bosporus, and my nose running, head stuffy, ears half blocked and feeling like shit.

It's only 2.35am I know that because I've been up to take pills, now I wait for them to take effect and so maybe get some more restful sleep… but probably not.

Those random thoughts are back. Dishwasher fucked up a while ago. It’s been a faithful friend to us saving the flights that could have been caused by dish duties. 8 years it has done well, but wait a 10 Year guarantee. Yay. I can't really see what I'm typing without my glasses. but they’re out there, where our guest is sleeping...so no glasses.

Anyway how does a tiny little piece of glass screw up a big machine to the point it decides no, I'm done. A service call, 2 guys to fix the problem and a cost of 50 TL (less than $16 US) so we didn’t need to buy a new dishwasher.

Headache pills not working yet, my body is sleepy but mind awake, this is not normal behaviour for an alien. Sleep usually easily engulfs me. I could sleep anytime at the snap of your fingers probably.

Tonight the words collecting from my husband's sleep utterances, his words and incomprehensible sounds while the sounds of outside night life continue unabated. The roar of the airplane over head floating miraculously through the night fog.

The sound of homeless street dogs talking to each other, discussing the coming days and their complaints about the previous day, which is now nothing but a piece of history remembered in different ways by the people of this planet.

Did I contribute anything useful to the planet today...no. Did the western world in general contribute anything useful to the planet...no.

There are still wars being fought encouraged by different governments and militaries. I will have to send another report soon about what I have seen and how the humans have reacted to it.

This really is a strange place to be, this place called Eart. (that’s not a typo, it really is called Eart, there was an error years ago that never was fixed) but I'm happy this has been my assignment for so long.
My man moves around a lot in his sleep. I’m pretty sedentary maybe a few times I may roll over, and I’m sure I teleport here and there during my sleep too, I'm a strange creature.

It's cold at night now, Autumn or as Americans say Fall. A fog hangs in the early morning sky, it’s 3.14 in the morning, I’m still awake still scratching out what I hope will be readable in the light of day.

Ears blocked trapping old sounds that keep running around in my head, no escape, I think they will remain trapped until this flu thing is released from my body and I am so called normal again.

What is normal anyway.

Is trump normal? Many would say no, and his actions would seem to prove those people right. And what is the big plan the so called world powers have for this planet?

Who knows but you can bet they will keep the real plans a secret because most of humanity won't like that big plan...already everywhere our rights are being diminished day by day.
How long will we put up with that...the revolution has begun.

I feel my medicine beginning to course through my alien blood stream I'm starting to feel tired, maybe restful sleep will soon be upon me.

That won't happen now.

Husband is awake and needs his TV to go back to sleep …eventually it will go off and the screen will go black if I'm lucky.
What is it about TV that puts some people to sleep easily? is it just so boring, or is it just need for changing light...disturbing light changes and noise, how can that put some to sleep?

The fridge seems to be screaming more loudly, and this screen is becoming more of a blur so I think it's time to give up my attempts of writing for now. I’ll see how well I did later.
