Friendship Park: The People's Park
I am very lucky that my house in Kuching is right opposite the Friendship Park. This park is given this name as it is a gift of friendship from China to Malaysia. In fact, majority of the workers who constructed the park was from China. The end result, a magnificent park showcasing China's architecture.

The architecture of this building is predominantly Chinese, reminiscent of a summer palace.

The lush landscaping makes the park an oasis in the city.
From dawn to dusk, the park is full of groups of people exercising.

One of the entrances to the park is also filled with people doing exercise.

A statue of Admiral Cheng Hoe in a ship, legend has it that he escorted Princess Hang Li Pho to Malaysia for a marriage to a Sultan.

Kuching in Malay means cat.Statues of cats are common in Kuching.
This park is immaculately landscaped.

As you can see from the photographs, this is a very popular park. It is also a place to seek refuge and take a break from our busy routine. I called it the People's Park.

That is why the park is so popular for those who are jogging, doing martial arts, yoga and the like. After one group has finished their exercise, another group will take over.
