Wednesday Walk - The Wildflowers Keep Blooming and the Birds Keep Singing...
The cooler days and lots of rain has kept the wildflowers in full bloom for longer periods of time and the ditches and the meadow on the hill is full of beautiful blooms which keep me in awe each time we go up the hill and take in the view!
Come along as I show you what new blooms have opened on our #WednesdayWalk (posted on a Thursday - sorry @tattoodjay but a thunderstorm knocked the power out when I tried to post it Wednesday)
Before we left for our walk we were sitting on the deck. Bruno's attention was caught by the sound of the chickadee in a bush near by. There were a couple of other birds chirping too.
Last time I had posted about the fleabane coming into bloom but now a whole section of the ditch is full of the beautiful fleabane!

The hyssop was full of blooms (a favorite of the bees!) adding their tall purpley blue spikes to the mix of wildflowers

It was up on the hill where the goldenrod really came into their own leaving golden waves in the field.

Different pollinators were attracted to the goldenrod and even a strange beetle.

Another favorite of the pollinators was the wild mint which was in full bloom.

Just coming into full bloom was the wild asters adding their glory to the other wildflowers in the meadow.

We bought a couple of chair up to the meadow so we could sit and enjoy the view - Bruno seemed to like watching me more.

Time to head home for the clouds were starting to roll in.

And of course we have to check in on the neighbor's new foal who is a few weeks old now and very frisky!

The final bit of our walk down our willow lane was highlighted with the silver willow.

Coming home I was greeted with the call of the wren singing a beautiful song and he even flitted onto the deck so I could identify who was singing that song.
Thanks @tattoodjay for this great initiative #WednesdayWalk.

Those flower pictures are really nice!
I'm not sure what kind of mint that is, but I've seen pictures of it before.
Is that hyssop useful for tea?
I love the sound of the birds and all those wildflowers
How cool the young foal
Thanks for joining Wednesday Walk :)
Sigh...August 1 and goldenrod already! I was astounded to see another Wednesday walk, seemed like I'd just read one a couple days ago! I guess there's so much been happening here I lost track of time.
That meadow is so lovely! So cool to be able to watch new foal antics. :))
I love fleabane, it's so delicate. The asters remind me of my New England asters, which are still a long way from flowering. That will be September...
I absolutely LOVE fleabane!
We have some growing wild here too and it's just such a beautiful and delicate blossom.
A lovely walk. I enjoyed seeing all the wild flowers.
Gorgeous! And Bruno is quite handsome.

Wow and Wow again!
You live in a fantasy world my friend.
Just to sit at the top of that hill is so dreamy.
Really a great post here!
Blessings!
