Natural sign is a part of a larger thing, category, group, or condition signified by it . A natural sign is inherent in the thing it symbolizes. For example, the emergence of fever is a sign that something is wrong in one's body chemistry.
It means that fever is not a sickness; it is a sign that something is wrong with the body. Elevated fever is a sign dengue or flu; the yellowing of white of the eyes, skin, and mucos membrane caused by bile pigments in the blood is a sign of jaundice or liver problem. Another example in relation to classroom setting is receiving high grades. Conversely, if students give correct responses, they will receive higher grades than those who do not. In short, receiving high grades is a sign or an indication of better performance in school.

Non-natural sign is the opposite of natural signs. It is called non-natural because it is not a basic part or a very nature of something. For instance, a drop of blood is a sign of life, but it may also signify the death of someone. The sight of a wheelchair symbolizes one's inability to ambulate. However, it does not mean that such is an inherent part of a person's inability to ambulate.

Digital sign is a sign for processing, storing, or transmitting information in the form of numerical digits. This sign is independent of the inherent parameters of its meaning. For instance, using a scoring rubric for assigning grade in a paragraph, we may use the 1-4 scales where 1 is the lowest and 4 being the highest for each set of dimensions.
