Remembering history at Cut Meutia Traditional House "Religious Tourism Program"

Each province in Indonesia has a different language and cultures. Likewise with the province of Aceh which has traditional houses in the form of houses on stilts. This Aceh traditional house has special characteristics in the form of masts are useful for supporting the building of a house.

Some time ago, we made a visit to the Cut Meutia traditional house. This activity is part of the scouting education activities in the "Religious Tourism" program. Spiritual visit to find out the historical traces of Cut Meutia. Cut Meutia is one of the female heroes from North Aceh. He was known to be very formidable and wise during the colonial struggle in the past.

This traditional house is located in the Mesak Pirak Village, Matangkuli District, North Aceh Regency. If from the center of scouting education activities from Lhokseumawe City, then we need about 1 hour more to get to Cut Meutia Traditional House. Because of the great distance, we rented a pick-up car to be able to take all participants to the venue.

The journey to the location passes through oil and gas project the eks-Exxonmobil, villages and rice fields. The location of this traditional house is classified as the deepening region. However, the route to get there is paved, so it is very easy to reach with any type of vehicle.

The nuances around this traditional house seem very cool and beautiful. The situation of the countryside is increasingly felt with rice fields that stretch widely. Really a very beautiful panorama to be enjoyed at that time. Likewise with the traditional house, which is also very beautiful and shady. The atmosphere at this location really feels very calm and peaceful. This is a religious tour that is quite pleasant.

Religious tourism program is a type of tourism that is usually associated with religion, history, customs, and community beliefs. This activity is a form of introduction to historical values and upholds the values of local cultural wisdom. This religious activity is often done as a form of appreciation for culture, customs and local wisdom. This activity is usually carried out at certain times such as the celebration of heroes' days and national holidays.

In view of the life of the people of Aceh, the existence of ancestral sites must be respected and upheld by their civilization, on the grounds that these historic sites can provide certain strength and blessings. In fact, in some community cultural sites actualize the special treatment of these historic sites. The story of the greatness of the hero is expected to provide motivation for each participant.

In this place scout participants can see firsthand the site of cultural heritage and local wisdom in this area. This traditional house is very old, in the past most of the people in North Aceh built houses that were modeled like the Cut Meutia traditional house. Inside the house, there are some old photos displayed on the wall of the house. There is also a tambourine, a traditional musical instrument placed in a cupboard.

The design of this traditional house looks very unique, and is rich in philosophical and aesthetic values. Ornaments found on this part of the wall are made by chiseling. Building this traditional house on stilt is supported by 16-24 poles made of wooden sticks. This buffer serves so that wild animals cannot enter the house. In addition, Islamic values are also so attached to this house, this is marked by the position of the house facing east and west or facing the Qibla.

In the yard of the house there is a hall, a traditional rice pulverizer (jeungki), a rice storage area (krong) and a monument / monument Cut Meutia which is near the pond. Religious tourism program activities are expected to provide knowledge and motivation to all scout education participants. The site of cultural heritage and local wisdom such as the Cut Meutia Traditional House is one of Indonesia's cultural treasures that must be preserved.

Scout education always teaches about this through the implementation of dharma which reads "love of nature and compassion among humans". Loving culture is the most important part that must be done by every society in facing the current development of the times.
