What are misunderstandings?

Misunderstandings are inevitable kind of. Misunderstandings are unfriendly situations where you find yourself overreacting or being challenged to a brawl .
Once in a while you find yourself being misunderstood by someone, someone who may even be your close friend. It could even be you, mis-judging a situation.

Today you are friends with someone and it seems as if there is no one like them but another day, you wonder how you ever coped with them ? They become like total strangers in some cases..

As much as we all long to live together peacefully and lovingly especially with loved ones, I ve come to realise we still step on each other's toes. Whether we expect it or not, I personally hate being mis understood. Like adults say, the teeth still bites the tongue as close to each other as they are.

The most important thing is to strive to settle disputes amicably. With consideration and maturity also giving benefit of doubts, misunderstandings should be settled.

How can one settle misunderstandings?

  • Don't be quick to argue

Arguing, taking things personally and raising your voice at someone is the fuel of misunderstandings. You can not make an headway if you keep arguing in the situation.

  • Exercise patience
Being patient is key when settling disputes. It helps to calm any situation no matter how bad.

  • Don't expect too much from people
The reason we easily get dissappointed and angry at people is because we expect too much from them. We believe they should be able to act like us or think like us in certain situations.

  • Get to understand the other person
Remember you might be misunderstanding the situation, give the other person a chance to explain things better. If you are the one being misunderstood, explain yourself better without getting angry.

  • Solve the problem, don't try to be right
If you keep trying to prove you are right and not at fault you will keep fuelling the fire of the situation.

  • Let go off the past
Once it is settled do not dwell on it anymore. Move on.

As long as an individual is on this planet and alive, he or she will get into misunderstanding situations. The ability to settle differences amicably is what gives birth to love, joy and peaceful co-existence.

Highly educating read, sometimes misunderstandings are good...it helps to clear the air

Hmmmm....maybe you are right..i perceive you have an experience to share

well, it gives people the opportunity to air their compressed anger and frustrations

I agree with this, only if you learn from it though.

I always try to avoid arguments at all cost because it drains one's energy and time. Thank you for sharing this advice with us.

You are right...Thank you for reading...

Okay Ma, I have learnt a lot from this.........Steem on

Thank you 😀😀

You always, i repeat always hit the nail on the head. Well done pretty. Dwelling on the past when issues have been resolved brings about past hurts and reopens the wound. It is not always healthy for anyone.
