Father's Day: The benefits of being a Father!

Let's be honest, there are downsides being a father. You drink less, you party less, you have more responsibility, you have less time for yourself, you worry more ...

BUT the benefits of being a father are much more worthy (at least this is what I talk myself into )

Today is Father's Day in Germany. Traditionally you stroll arround in a carriage or something similar, drink a lot and make a barbecue somewhere in the wild.

When I woke up today, I was greeted by a great prepared breakfast with fresh breadrolls and coffee prepared by a very cheerful family. All wishing me a happy fathersday and giving me some gifts. My son will invite me to an icecream and painted something for me and my daughter telling me that I am the best father she could have expected. Also she had prepared two selfwritten poems.

This is so much heartlifting as life can get.

My wife also gave me a gift, something she had bought several days ago, to keep me busy during the day TODAY: A new kettle grill.

Well THIS was a great idea. We had not started the BBC season this year, although the year had seen some really nice days so far. So I started building the grill.

It looked a bit like constructing an IKEA wardrobe...
But after some time spend, it was finally done and I liked the result very much!

So nothing left to do, than testing that thing!

This looks about right:

Steak, loin, cheese filled meatballs and lime-topped beef
(You probably can imagine my wide grin at this time of the day )

It was perfect.

Now the only thing left to do is enjoy another beer (or two, or... ) and watch the storm roll past together with my wife, imagining the half (or full) drunk guys out in the wild trying to find shelter.
