World Emoji day today
Every year on July 17, a funny unofficial holiday is celebrated-world Emoji day. Emoji is a graphical language that uses icons instead of words.

The word "Emoji "comes from the Japanese words" picture "and"symbol". It's easy to guess that the Emoji first appeared in Japan. They are very similar to emoticons (smileys), but, unlike emoticons, emojis can represent not only emotions, but also objects. Initially, the Emoji were only available in their home country, but in 2011, Apple included the Emoji set in the iOS operating system, and they became popular all over the world.
World Emoji day is celebrated on July 17 because this date is displayed on the Emoji Calendar icon for iOS. The festival is coordinated by the website Emojipedia, an online encyclopedia specializing in explaining the meanings of Emoji.
So why are these tiny faces so popular? American scientists have found the answer to this question (Although it is unlikely in their study they used the phrase "tiny faces"). It was published in the journal Scientific American and went something like this: "as social beings, we must receive constant confirmation of our status by our surroundings." But dry words are not enough to confirm the status. When dealing with eye to eye, are not so much words as intonation, gestures, you hold a knife in your hand and poke them in the interlocutor, or not. Analogous to nonverbal cues in the world of letters and became an Emoji.
