Learning landscapes. My new mission!
There has been a time that I was totally and utterly obsessed with drawing a certain landscape. A little house, a fence, a path and a tree. This was when I was younger and day after day I made the same drawing until I finally thought it was good enough. The older I got the less I thought about drawing but since a few weeks the landscaping has popped up in my mind again. So today I gave it my best shot using Oil crayons.
After looking online to see how other use the crayons I stopped and decided to just go with the flow and do what I feel is the right way. I kinda like how the crayons look after you rub them on the paper with your fingers. Not to blend the colors but to just make a mess and that is what I did today with this drawing.
I also made mountains! Or titties, I am not sure but I think for the first time this looks really nice and I have to be honest, I had to stop myself from drawing a little house!
Drawing this brought back memories and because of that I am going to focus on landscaping for a few weeks. I want to learn how to use colors and make thing look more realistic in a way not that I am a realistic painter/drawer. But i still want to learn how to use more details so tips are more than welcome.

I remember watching Bob Ross as I was growing up and wanting to be just like him...even the afro. He painted incredible landscape pictures.
Oh God yes he did! I could watch him for hours and hours and he made it look so damn easy. I always tried to do the same but my paintings turned into Picasso before they were even done. My happy trees weeped and my butterflies died before landing hahahha!

There was also this little stand at a market who sold paintings like BOB ross made and it pissed me off that the woman behind it could do it and could not! I even told her that life was not fair. Lmao

Don't you love those crayons? I've heard them called Cray Pas or oil pastels. I really love how they move and blend. Great job!
I LOVE THEM! They work fantastic but I also want to try out soft pastels soon. It seems you have options working with those instead of the oil based ones.
