Doodle and decorate your home #3 (Tutorial)
We mostly doodle on paper but I am going to change that and show to you that you can Doodle on really everything if you have the right tools. Why should you only doodle during boring meetings, classes or when you have a nice sit on the toilet. Why not doodle on things you like to make them look even more amazing?
So this time I want to show you that you can Doodle your own wooden heart hanger!
Need: * A wooden heart! (( You can buy them in the shops or make one yourself)
* A water proof marker. ( I used black with a fine tip)
* A calm mind with happy feelings.
* A little piece of rope so you can hang your heart up.
* Fine sandpaper to take of sharp edges.
The heart I picked is a small one and fits in the palm of my hand. I made sure it was clean and I used some sand paper on the side and top to smoothe it up. You can draw better on clean and equal wood.
I started with drawing a few different hearts in the middle. You can go with flowers or anything else you want but I thought it would be cool to draw hearts on my hearts and I was in a loving mood. After the first few hearts I place the heart down to give the ink time to dry a but. I enjoy drawing on wood but it takes a little bit of time before you get the right feeling. It's different from drawing on paper and your pen might slip away faster. So start slow, never rush when you work with water proof ink.
I added a few more hearts and started to work in the outside frame using simple half circles. Again after this I did put the heart down to dry the ink. It would such a shame if you mess up the ink with your fingers or hand while working on it.
I completed the border and added a few more hearts. At this point I took some time to think if I had enough hearts. Again, let the ink dry! I liked the amount of hearts I had now so it was time to fill in the blank space.
I filled in the rest of the wood using the shape over and over again. After doing that it would be time, after drying, to put the rope through the small hole in the heart! I advice you to do it at this point and not as I did before starting. Because of the rope it was very hard to draw around the heart.
And there you go! You made your own Doodle heart hanger! Mine is shining bring in the bathroom next to the same wooden heart I decorated with shiny little stones on a mirror.
