Coffee and wet feet!
Wet feet and coffee!
Today started wet and it only became more wet!
First I got a phonecall that woke me up in the middle of the night! ( Read at 11 am) And yes for me that is still midnight! I went to bed way toooo late as always because we did the Resteem Radio show last night on Msp-waves!
With my eyes still in letssleepsomemore mode I made my way into the kitchen to make myself a nice cup (read whole pot) of steamy hot coffee only to be shocked at the fact that there was no light in the kitchen! Midnight.....So, I brewed myself the perfect coffee and thought about going to sleep after said coffee for the rest of the day.
With my freshly brewed cup of life I made my way to the livingroom and BAM! Thunder and lightning crashed the place and for a brief moment I thought about striking a pose because my mom always said Heaven is taking your picture when there was lightning!
I blinked, walked to the window and just stood there amazed at the amount of water that was coming down from above and flooding the streets.
I'll be floody flood
My whole street turned into a pool and the I totally missed the noice outside from the people who were already trying to keep the water out of the garage etc!
Picture taken from Woerden.tv
I did NOT take the picture above because there was a journalist in my street taking pictures and videos about what was going on. I did take a few pictures with my sad Samsung phone and they turned out wet and BAD! The picture above is however taken behind my house! So you do see my street!
While sipping my coffee I wondered how long it would take for me to spot the first whale in my street! So, I went down to have a look, brought some nice cookies with me to lure them whales closer to me but sadly, just my luck, all the whales where in a street somewhere else!
There was another sad thing! The firemen did not walk around half naked holding puppies and or kittens like you always see in the media! BUMMER!
The above picture I took during my third mug of coffee and this is at the front of my house! The water there was already gone after they did their magic!
We were lucky, we only had water in our garage and the car was not inside! It was about 10 cm of water in there, so not too bad. Other neighbors where not so lucky and had around 40 to 50 cm of water in their place! The next picture was also taken by the journalist in my street for Woerden.tv
There was no real damage around here but I am not sure about other spots here in Woerden or in the Netherlands for that matter!
For now I hope the rain and thunderstorms stay away because tomorrow I want to have my BBQ! That meat is screaming my name! You know what? Even if its going to rain like this again tomorrow I will still do my BBQ because.... Always stay positive!
Thank you for reading my post!
Best wishes

what is was the reason ?
i didn't knew you guys also face this problem. in rainy seasons, it is a daily matter for us in bangladesh.
Just bad weather really! We don't often have this bad weather though!
I would go insane if this was always.
Normally we have just good weather lol!

just imagine what we go through during rainy season.
I'm so sorry about life that happened @poeticsnake. It's relieving you weren't so much affected.
booooo flooding is never good! Sorry you are dealing with all of that Snekky!
Thats a lot of water! Upvoted :)
Haha I very must enjoyed hearing you talk about this wonderful post in the @whaleshares extreme curation show last night!
11.am middle of the night...I concur.
Glad you avoided the worst of it although i think we should start a blockchain petition for you to have some hunky half-clad firefighters in your street 24/7. On a more serious note you raised a very valid comment in your post and I wholeheartedly agree with you on this point...
Always drink the whole pot of coffee as the day just looks and feels better!
Loving the attitude by the way enjoy your "whatever weather comes my way" BBQ, life is way to short to wait for permission to have fun from such pointless authorities asthe weather.
Take great care, hope June brings much more sun. Have an amazing journey keep on
Steemin'Slitherin' ;)Oh my god, such a flood, glad you are ok and fine...
