What is PO8?

PO8 is a blockchain ecosystem making marine archaeology and treasure hunting more inclusive and decentralized. For the first time ever, people from around the world can participate in treasure hunting expeditions through the tokenization of search and recovery efforts. And, through our decentralized applications (DApps), PO8 provides secure, transparent and cost effective blockchain solutions for registering, authenticating, and transferring high valued assets.

What problems does PO8 solve?

The main problems we solve are eliminating barriers to entry (high cost) for people who want to participate in marine archaeology projects, along with the decentralizing and distribution of recoveredtreasures.

How does it work?

1. The PO8 Maritime Artifact Database System (MADS) allows anyone from around the world to help in the search and recovery efforts of long lost artifacts. Through proof of stake, PO8 token holders can participate and complete any of our bounty tasks and earn free tokens. Bounty tasks include but not limited to analyzing data such as sonar, magnetometer, geo mapping, historical records, weather patterns, video feeds and more.
   

2. The PO8 Historical Artifact Registry System (PHARS) is a decentralized registry platform used to identify historical artifacts and certify their authenticity, through the creation of unique signature identifications that live in the blockchain indefinitely.
   

3. The PO8 Government Artifact Auction System (GAAS) serves as a secure escrow service allowing governments, museums and non-profit organizations to register and authenticate artifact treasures to buy, sell and auction historical artifacts between one another. All users of the platform are validated to ensure they are government entities.
   

4. The PO8 Historic Open Auction Platform (HOAP) establishes a safe and transparent decentralized auction house ensuring responsible commerce of artifacts. This permits P08 to auction off a fraction of the recovered treasures and, subsequently, the open sourcing of the platform to anyone looking to create their own auction for high-end artifacts and treasures on the blockchain.

What value does PO8 bring to the marine archaeology industry?

We are introducing blockchain to do what governments and non-profits fall short on. We are leveraging blockchain technologies to create a unique ecosystem providing a more sustainable industry whilebringing together competing interest groups to do one thing – find historical artifacts. We achieve this through the PO8 Four-Pronged Ecosystem – Foundation, Auction, Registry and Reserve (FARR)

· Foundation: The PO8 Foundation will be a custodial recipient of some of the discovered artifacts to be shared with the world to view through travelling exhibitions.
· Auction: Our Historical Open Auction Platform (HOAP) is a decentralized auction platform ensuring responsible commerce of historical artifacts while providing a secure, transparent and cost effective place to buy and sell precious treasures.
· Registry: The PO8 Historical Artifact Registry System (PHARS) creates a method to identify historical artifacts and certify their authenticity permitting government agencies, museums and organizations to register historic artifacts.
· Reserve: A portion of the recovered treasures such as gold and silver will be placed in the P08 reserve and pegged to the P08 token, resulting in token stability.
