Eco-Friendly Biodiesel and Ecological Exploits with Willie Nelson
Eco-Friendly Biodiesel and Ecological Exploits
Eco-friendly Biodiesel
In 2005, as a reaction to the war in Iraq and a desire to support American agronomists, Willie Nelson launched Willie Nelson Biodiesel to sell, BioWillie, his brand of substitute fuel chiefly made from soybeans. In 2005, he told The New York Times that he was aware of the need of something that would keep the USA from being so reliant on foreign oil, and therefore the moment he heard of biodiesel an idea struck him. Willie Nelson added that the biodiesel would be the future for truckers, future for the farmers and future for the environment.
Ecological Exploits
Nelson positioned operations at a plant in Oregon he co-owned alongside his Texas automobile stop Carl’s Corner, and the subsequent year brought the organization to California. Also, other Nelson’s ecological exploits have prospered for instance Farm Aid, the show successions he co-founded to help American family farmers, which celebrated its 25th birthdate in 2010. Moreover, Nelson joined forces with Ben & Jerry’s to sell "Willie Nelson's Country Peach Cobbler Ice Cream" with every profit to Farm Aid and has joined Animal Welfare Institute in support of wild horses’ protection.
Also, Willie and his wife Annie co-founded the Sustainable Biodiesel Alliance, which addresses matters relating to the sustainability of the U.S. biodiesel trade through education, certification, and by offering biodiesel suppliers and consumers with valued online membership tools. Amongst several other causes, Willie is also a passionate family farmer’s supporter, and in the mid-1980s organized the hugely successful benefit concert series Farm Aid.
