Your Musical Steem Report (June 11 - June 17, 2018)

Hi Steemians! This music composition as made based on the movement of the Japanese candlesticks for Steem this week. This week was relatively sporadic for Steem. Lots of coins dropped readily but we anticipate a strong recovery.

Process

As many of you may know, it all starts with the chart. First we take this and analyze it.

I personally like to flip it so that it has a black background because it's easier to look at for me.

The first thing I thought of is melody. I wrote the melody based on Dminor. Following the chart in relative steps. This as a particularly notey and less "musical" sounding version.

Assume each candlestick equals an 8th note and 3 hrs of real time.

It wasn't until after I wrote the melody did I apply the chords. Because it was based on the notes of the melody, I attempted to come up with both a harmonically cohesive chord progression as well as one that also just sounds good. The challenge is that the chart can bring the notes anywhere, so every week is different and poses a new challenge. I had fun making a special groove for this one.

The piece goes as follows:
/STEEM chart melody and groove / Breakdown groove / back to STEEM chart melody / Back to groove/

ABAB form basically.
