We went night fishing and caught a monster!
A few weeks ago, my friend Jeff and I went night fishing at a 55 acre private lake. This place is loaded with huge largemouth bass and we aimed to catch a few!
We started in the deep water near the dam and began trolling with diving crank baits.
We had only been fishing ten minutes or so and Jeff yells, "I got a big one on!'
He would fight it up to the boat and just before we could see it, a hude swirl would erupt jusy below the surface and it would take off and a make his reel scream as it pulled line out running!
He kept reeling and pulling and finally got it up near the boat and just as I snapped a picture and could see something big under the surface, it turned again and took off pulling out line!
He fought it in for the fourth time or so, and the big fish was finally tired out a little.
This thing is huge! We still don't know what it is at this point and begin looking for the fishing net. Guess what? No net!
Jeff fought him right up to the boat and we could finally see this monster clearly!
It's a huge carp! I have never heard of anyone catching a grass carp from it biting a bass lure!
I thought they were vegetarians and just ate grass.
I tried grabbing it with my hand so we could examine him closely for a moment, but he was strong and slippery and shook me right off!, drenching me pretty good!
We had a beach towel in the boat so I quickly wrapped it around the fish and tried to pick him up.
He must have rested by now because he exploded wetting me once again and escaped the towel, shook the bait out of his mouth and was gone!
We fished the rest of the night and caught a nice cooler full of large mouth bass. We kept them alive and took them first thing the next morning and released them in my small pond.
So we can catch them again!
Me with a 5 pounder a few weeks later.
My dad, @dempsey, caught a nice one that day too!
I know there's a few big bass in there now!
What state is this?
Sweet fishing trip man, great pictures! I am sure to follow!
Awesome Catch!
thanks it was so much fun and we really thought he had a monster bass hooked!
You Never Know!
Steem on!
:))
Was this caught close to you in Georgia?
yes in Eastman,Ga at Tripp's Beach
That thing was a monster!
I have heard from others that carp can be caught than spinning small silver bait, but never happened to me.
While using very small, really tine silver spoon I have two strange catches.
Common rudd Scardinius erythrophthalmus and the gudgeon Gobio gobio.
Both caught regurarly at mouth no accident. Central Europe, Czech republic.
are all these photographs yours?
I took them all, even the one of me holding the fish
ok Sir, copy that
Sir, you need to have a man to man talk with your son about his deceiving behaviour, I cannot keep supporting him if he keeps trying to deceive the community, please have that talk with him.
Really? Well thank you for letting me know that you support that behaviour.
your comment is on the blockchain even if you "delete" it.
Needless to say that I will continue doing what I have to do to fight abuse,
as you can see in your son's latest deceptive post, unlike you, I conduct myself professionally.
Have a good evening sir.
support what behavior you silly fuck? I deleted it because I saw Jay was giving you the benefit of the doubt in a comment back to you on his post. YOU ARE the abuse on Steemit you fucking troll!
Oh, is that the reason you deleted the 4 pictures in this post that werent yours too? That too is on the blockchain.
Have a good evening sir
who cares man? who will ever re-explore the blockchain looking for "borrowed" images. Everyone was posting whatever pics and not sourcing them or anything until the content trolls started hounding everyone. Some of the posts that you've reposted have unsourced images...again-who cares?
Nice catch
