White Sands National Monument
If you are not familiar with White Sands National Monument, at 275 square miles of pristine white sand dunes, it is the largest gypsum dune field on our planet.
The landscape is dramatic, otherworldly. And while it is certainly a nice place for a photo-op, it's also a wonderful place to contemplate the beauty of the natural world and to take in quite wonder of this spectacular place.
White Sands is truly marvelous and awesome, in the truest senses of the words. It is a place to marvel, it is a place that inspires awe. Bordered by the desert with mountains on either side, the landscape is truly unique.
And it is also a place to have some fun! We were able to sled down the dunes, which for many of us desert dwellers, sand sledding is the only opportunity we have to sled.
Beneath New Mexico's striking blue sky, the white sand dunes are an impressive contrast.
I did not know those dunes :) Thanks for sharing and looking out for more interesting posts of you!
