Gumberoo: Fearsome Critter
Part of the fearsome critter clan mythologized by American lumberjacks in the early 20th century, the Gumberoo is another strange fictional creature. The Gumberoo is similar in appearance to a bear, with a few key differences. One of these differences is that the Gumberoo is completely hairless, giving the beast the appearance of a hulking, walking football.
Three sets of legs, for a total of six, instead of just two, were said to make the Gumberoo a skilled climber. Like many fearsome critters, the Gumberoo is a better climber than walker, and is also incredibly shy and rare. It is said that this creature only inhabits burned areas of the forests, and their black skin’s color could originate from contact with charred wood. The dark skin of the Gumberoo is allegedly near invulnerable. No weapon or thing, even bullets, could pierce the skin of the animal.
For the Gumberoo, the only thing that can kill this creature is fire. It is said that it explodes when exposed to the heat of fire.
