Bosque Del Apache Wildlife Refuge

in #nature6 years ago

Bosque Del Apache Wildlife Refuge in San Antonio, New Mexico, is very popular this time of year for the upcoming Sandhill Crane Festival. A popular migratory destination for many birds, the wildlife refuge is a beautiful, peaceful location to witness many different types of birds and other animals as well.

While it is not quite peak season of the Sandhill Crane migration, but there are still plenty of the birds in the area. The birds create a strangely lovely cacophony of sound while going about their business in the marshes of the bosque.

Aside from the wildlife, Bosque Del Apache Wildlife Refuge is striking for the landscape. The surrounding cottonwood forests, marshes, ponds, fields, and mountain views are a good enough reason to visit the refuge. The refuge features many lovely places like this boardwalk for viewing the beauty of the area.

The very kid-friendly visitors center is also clean, educational, and built in the lovely Spanish Pueblo Adobe style popular to this region. Not to mention adorned with chile ristras.

Bosque Del Apache is definitely worth a visit if you find yourself travelling along the middle Rio Grande Valley. The views are stunning, and there is ample wildlife for you to take in as well.
