This is an interesting topic and im happy to hear you did the math on it. I started with content creation end of 2017, right aroudn the time I got into bitcoin, and I was really really happy to have found Steemit at that exact same time. Although content creation is not about the monetary reward necessarily (or it shoudlnt be just about that) it sure ddoes help because this stuff takes time and effort.
IDK how much I have made on Steemit, but I am positive it is much much more and in a quicker amount of time than if i had staid with only YouTube. I think once more content creator start figuring that out, the talent and the newbies will all find their way to steemit! but right now YouTube still has the name brand.
