Be Honest - Do You Practice What You Preach?
Don't you love it when someone noticeably practices what they preach...
Over the Christmas holiday, my family went down to Cornwall in the south west of the UK to stay in a tiny seaside town. We rented an ancient cottage with walls that were 5 feet thick and stayed most of the week in front of a roaring fire.
We heard that just up the road was a lovely boutique hotel owned by Olga Polizzi of the Polizzi hotelier family.
That got me thinking because Alex Polizzi is known as the Hotel Inspector - she has a TV show where she goes in and turns around failing hotels - a bit like Gordon Ramsay does with restaurants.
I naturally wondered what the hotel would be like... Do they practice what they preach?
So we went up for a Cornish Cream Tea.
I doubted that Alex herself would actually be there; certainly over the holiday period - but to my surprise, she was the very first person we saw when we walked into the hotel!
Not only did we get a cheery and happy welcome, but she was also carrying guests' coats for them to the cloakroom. 'Getting her hands dirty' so to speak.
Needless to say that the Tresanton hotel and its service was exceptional. Her reputation was well deserved.
Do you and your business practice what you preach?
Is how you present yourself in person in complete alignment with the image you portray online?
