Birth of a Revolution
Many people in the world get to experience the affects of revolutions in their lives. Very few are lucky enough see the spark of a revolution. I'm old enough to remember the beginnings of the personal computer revolution. I had a Commodore 64 and was one those kids who was nerdy enough to want one and lucky enough to have parents who could get me one. I can remember playing games on it and teaching myself how to program (never did get good at that). It was pretty complicated for average people. You had to type in all these commands just to get it to do something. I remember thinking how cool it would be when it gets easy enough for everyone to use PC. As I grew up I got to see that happen.
When I got to college I was lucky enough to again see a spark. I studied engineering but being the the nerd I was, I would hang out in the computer labs. I remember sitting in front of amber color screen in lab sending off my first email. I was an officer in an engineering club which had chapters at different schools around the country. We would send messages to each other. Again it was complicated, you had to type all these commands just to send. A lot of times it took more typing to send the message than what was in it but I remember thinking how cool this would be when it get simpler to use.
Years later I came across bitcoin and thought this is too complicated no one is going to use this. I dismissed it because I didn't know what it was. A few months later I came across it again and realized the power it had. I could see the power that crypto-currencies could have. It was complicated to use and understand. I had that same feeling again, this is going be revolutionary when it becomes simpler enough for ordinary people to use. Well guess what, that moment has arrived again in the form of Steemit.
You are in the beginning of new revolution. You have the ability to actually see the Spark!
