Nationwide protest versus oro festival

Protest across the globe is a widely known way of publicly showing grievances by demonstration against any forms of oppression and dissatisfaction about something. It can be seen as a statement or action expressing disapproval of or objection to something. For instance people may protest against the policies or actions of governments and institutions. However, it is a fundamental human right and freedom of expression which is allowed by the rule of law. Over time, people have been making use of protests to change the course of actions and get what they want, especially when the demonstration is peaceful and well coordinated. This often happened in developed countries, as well as ongoing in Kenya.

Meanwhile, there has been widely publicised crusade about a nationwide protest in Nigeria from the 1st of August of this year and will last for 10 days, which is expedient due to the unbearable hardship and hunger as well as the degradation in law and economy. Though I'm not an advocate of violence. 👌I give my support for peaceful demonstration of any kind that will make this heartless politicians have a rethink and shift the ground on some of their arrogance. In fact, Nigeria is long over due for such a protest.

Just as millions of people across the ethnics, religions and regions are getting ready for this protest❤, government has been planning and re-planning relentlessly to foil the efforts of the common and helpless Nigerians. Various tactics have been adopted by the from arresting and detaining of some people to having secret meetings with the men of the security agents to either maim or kill the protesters (as they did during the Endsars) or even scare them, but all to no avail. Even though people do not know the intention of these desperate political leaders, they are hellbent to hold the protest.

Oro festival 👀
Somehow somewhere, some people who could not stand people exercising their fundamental human rights and freedom of expression, have begun to stylishly put water on the fire that is burning in the hearts of millions of Nigeria. They claim to also start the festival of their deity on same day the protest is planned to start and continues through out and beyond the periods of the protest. They forgot that the hardship in the country is not joking even with the oro priests. If you take bribe today to disrupt the good intention of those who meant good for this country, nemesis will catch up with you and your posterity some day.

Nonetheless, let us tread gently and ensure that the protest is peaceful and that its objective is to push the government to remember that they are not there for themselves but for the masses.
