Respect Yourself

A very strong antidote to messing up in life is self-respect.

Oftentimes we show respect to others but fail to respect our person, this has done more damage than good to our reputation and personality.

What you need to earn other's respect most times is not even generosity, it is not mutual respect but self respect.

How can I respect myself?

One can imbibe the value of self-respect by setting standards and putting limits to some things like; what you do, what you say, where you go, what you wear and so on.

You don't have to say yes to every guy you admire, you don't have to say everything that comes to your mind, you don't have to honour every invitation, you don't have to be the one that speaks most

If you respect yourself, people will respect you, but if you don't respect yourself, no one else will.

One of my friends who resides in military Barack narrated the ordeal of a military officer who was having illicit affairs with the wife of a civilian. Lucky ran out of him one day as he was caught red-handed. The matter was reported to the military authority and he was demoted openly. His superior boss made a remark as he was removing his ranks

because you fail to respect yourself

A self-respected person will not be caught doing something sinister or be found charting unworthy cause.
The recent happening in steemit community concerning delegation of S.P is a big lesson for us all.

As a lady, respect yourself, do the right thing. As a guy, respect yourself, stop all forms of anomaly. You deserve some respect, but you are going to demonstrate to people how true that is. Show some self-respect.
