#club5050 Otter Feeding Time
Have you ever fed otters? No? Seriously? Follow me then so you see how it’s done. Have fun and enjoy looking at their cute faces, teddy bear eyes and meerkat-like postures.

These are rescue otters living happily here in a sanctuary in Devon, England. This is not a zoo and these gorgeous animals are not trained to entertain a crowd. Though they certainly do whilst remaining true to themselves and their wild nature. They are just being fed here and they also receive proper medical care. Some of them even breed here in this safe environment whilst others just play.
Feeding the otters costs about £200 for a couple over here in Britain. I know it is rather a lot but you can also volunteer. The experience lasts about an hour and a half and even includes their lunch or tea preparation.

Don’t worry you don’t need to be a trained cook. They crave a main course only which they enjoy cold and raw so it can’t get any easier really. Based on my personal observations they are not fond of mackerel but they go crazy about trout.

They will eat as much as they are given but we stick to not more than two fish per meal for an adult otter.

Their behaviour is rather unique. Some would come real close and will eat from your hand. Others prefer to find a piece of fish in the greenery of their enclosure. Each to their own.

They all love spending time in the water, splashing and even fighting with each other. These creatures are full of energy and I didn’t see even a single one lazying around doing nothing.

They enjoy an early lunch starting at twelve sharp followed by an early dinner served at five o’clock at the latest.
The staff here are extremely friendly and care about them a lot. They know them by names and they easily foresee their next move.

Though I bet you have no clue about what I might post next. Makes two of us but that’s nothing to worry about as I am always on the way to my next adventure. I am not exaggerating at all as I am about to hop on a train to the coast first thing in the morning. Choo Choo!

This is very good to know and thanks for stopping by really. I find otters irresistibly cute and I like that they are extremely playful. They are quite fun to admire and I definitely enjoyed feeding them.
