Supergirl returns after a month long hiatus that left us to ponder and contemplate the implications of their latest revelations: that Lex Luthor was not only behind James' shooting, but had been working with Eve Tessmacher for years, was behind the founding of the children of liberty, and had helped the Kasnians raise and brainwash Supergirl's harranel-doppleganger.

The episode began not quite as emotional as I'd expected, but definitely built up to it. Everyone is, of course, looking for Lex. Ben Lockwood is still pushing the repeal of the alien amnesty act, Lena is struggling with guilt and fear over her duplications concerning the harranel and secret workings with Lex, James is trying (unsuccessfully) to push through his trauma, and J'onn is on a determined path of self-discovery to find out who exactly he is.

With the hearing over the Alien Amnesty Act coming up, the presidency retasks the DEO to security over the event, forcing Alex to team up with Supergirl and Kara on the Lex-hunt. The try to track him down using Eve, finding first an aunt who she'd cured of cancer and then her secret labs. Lena isn't upfront with them, though, telling them nothing about the harranel until they discover a sample in Eve's lab, and paying her mother secret visits in order to glean info from her. Kara flares up over the harranel, but calms down pretty quickly, leading to a new bond between the three ladies. In the lab, they discover that Lex has made Otis Graves into a Metallo with a Kryptonite heart, and soon find out that Eve is at the Act hearing in DC and head there to find her.

However, Lex is ahead of them all. Forcing through the repeal of the Act from behind the scenes, they spring a trap on the team, incapacitating Kara while her doppleganger attacks the White House and protesters, resulting in the presidency declaring her public enemy #1. J'onn is not around for help as he, after realising that he will never be a man of peace, embarks on a journey to Mars to return the Sacred symbols, leaving only Lena and Alex, and the General who believe her innocence.

Meanwhile, Ben Lockwood begins to harbour suspicions regarding thecircumstances preceding the repeal of the Alien Amnesty Act...
