I INTRODUCE MYSELF
My name is Peter Akpan, I'm a Nigerian I am from Ibesikpo Asutan LGA of AKWA-IBOM state. I grew up in Uyo although I do visit my aunts in Port-Harcourt and Lagos. Growing up was fun my dad is Mr Boniface Akpan and my mum is Mrs Udeme Akpan but she is late(may her soul continue to rest in peace). I am from a family of four kids in the ratio 2:2 that's to say 2 boys 2 girls precisely. I am the second son.
My name is Peter but my friends call me Mr speaker. I am a die hard Barcelona fan, Messi inspires me, I love his pattern of play, that's simply because he plays with magical touches and dribbles and that's one of the major reason why I adore him. Permit me to say this... Messi is one of the gift given to this generation by God. And with coutinho's signing will add to the general good of the team.
Growing up was fun with my siblings, I attended Okonee nursery school at abak road, uyo, Later got admitted to Nigerian Christian Institute where I got my Ssce and currently attending University of Uyo where am studying Electrical Engineering which I'll be leaving for my internship in April.
My reasons for choosing my field of study was simply because I had passion for electricity and electronics as a whole. Looking at the country right now we have a lot of challenges facing electricity as a whole, there are blackouts in most parts of the country, lights that could have been used for industrialization, health, and other relevant issues which you would agree with me that where there is no light, nothing is working right. So one of the reasons I choose my course of study was to restore light back to my state and the nation
as a whole. From my little knowledge in school I've learnt that there are so many ways of getting constant electricity starting from wind power, solar power, HEP, and many other suitable forms that could be used in Nigeria.
On a normal day that's a day am free from academics and work, I cook, go to movies, play video games and maybe travel to see friends that aren't close by, but one thing I do for sure most times is cooking. Apart from engineering, food is another thing I major in. I read chef books on different cuisines, how to prepare continental dishes and even table settings/dish serving that's why when I was on break last year I took up a course in hotel management with further expanded my knowledge. Now some people(especially from Nigeria) takes food as something you just take to quench hunger but that's not it... Food is life, food is your first doctor, food is like a session, food is money and to wow you abit food kills too. Over my study in hotels management n food/beverage processing I got to learn about the different major cuisines in the world(chinese, french, american, english, and more) their serving patterns, and yes how to serve wines n make drinks/cocktails too.I also got to know that cooks earn up-to N1.5M monthly(you could change that to your currency). It was a wonderful experience no doubt that's why it's good to learn something outside your field once in a while.
