Decentralized open platforms tend to grow faster and become larger than centrally organized ones trying to do the same thing.
Over the previous few hundred years:
dictators and empires were replaced by more decentralized democracies
Centrally controlled economies were replaced by more decentralized free markets.
When I saw the web in 1994 I was excited about this new decentralized platform that for the first time allowed me to share information with anyone in the world at a very low cost.
I started many businesses, most of which failed, but one product had the most traffic, sales, and profit margins. that product was sex toys.
I bought the domain sextoy.com for $70 and created one of the first affiliate programs on the internet to decentralize my marketing
In 2014 when i saw bitcoin, I saw another as a fast growing decentralized app competing against our central bank dollars.
I invested in Bitcoin at $350 and once again, betting on decentralization has paid off.
In 2017 I realized the cryptocurrency revolution will be bigger than the web revolution.
so I dropped all other work projects to focus all of my time studying what is going on to find the best investments.

Bitcoin however is better with a stricter supply control and is easier to tradeability.
Gold total value is over 8 trillion dollars.
If bitcoin takes only 10% of the gold market, we will see bitcoin at 50K.
