Interesting things about Norway

Norway would seem a pretty safe place to be a policeman. Since the end of the Second World War, only ten cops have been killed in the country.

The king of Norway is not actually known as the “King of Norway” but rather, “Norway’s King”, so as the title reflects the fact that the king belongs to Norway and not the other way around. Understand?

We know that it was Japan who came up with the brilliant idea to eat sushi, however, it might be surprising to learn that it was the Norwegians who convinced the Japanese that using salmon in the sushi would be a good idea. As it turns out, they were 100% right!

Back in 2008, Norway donated a whopping one billion dollars to help save the Amazon in South America!

Norway is continuously ranked towards the top of indexes which measure quality of living and prosperity. Oslo is also often ranked among the top cities in which to live; a usual fixture next to Australian, Canadian, and other Northern European cities.

We have the nation of Norway to thank for the sport of skiing. In fact, the very word itself “ski” means “piece of wood” in Norwegian.

“Odd” and “Even” in the Norwegian language are not used to describe number but happen to be names for males.
In some respects, Norway is damn expensive. One example is gas, which sees its highest global price in Norway – about US$10 per gallon.
