Russian Artists at St. Regis Dubai
Tonight my coworker invited me for an opening of an art exhibition organized by her mum. It took place at St. Regis Hotel, one of the most gorgeous buildings in Dubai if you ask me.
I took my husband with me and he said he liked it although he enjoyed the wine more than the art. They presented some Russian artists with different motives on the artworks. Some featured horses, others faces or hands, there were also some funky abstract pieces. Those were too vivid for me but who am I to judge.
These horses were on sale for 80k dirhams which is around $22k. I guess I can wait for Steem to get a little boost before I decide to buy it, hehe.
On this piece her hair is made of sea shells while sand is used for the skin.
5 women, 5 nations. As our Indian friends like to say: same same but different.
Oil on wood. Looks like water on fire.
On the way out I nearly forgot this is just the lobby. Looks like a piece of art to me.
What kind of art do you like? Who's your favorite artist? Let me know in the comments, it would be nice to learn something new. Until next time, my Steemit friends!
How nice. The art that you posted is just fantastic. And the lobby-I'm speachless. I bet it was a unique experience. About artwork... i don't prefere anyone. I think except for highly abstract artist I could find with each artist at least one that I would like. What about your favorite artist? Did I saw right that you paint aswell?
This looks wonderful. I am surprised your husband went with. It is good to have people around you who are able to show you venues you would not normally visit on your own.
I enjoy a soft watercolor landscape and also the Group of Seven - most of their work. I'm kind of eclectic with art - I also enjoy oils paint with a knife where there is a lot of texture.
Thanks for sharing this artwork....the hotel lobby is luxurious and the outside of the building is something to behold in comparison to the modern high rises behind it.
really nice post
