Be proud to be Malaysian coz Malaysia is paradise for Food Adventure.

There were more than 50 types of foods you must try but I am going to share a couple of food that has capture my attention which I think it called the same but prepared or served differently in every state of Malaysia … Nasi Lemak & Wan Tan Noodle.

For breakfast, Malaysian usually go for Nasi Lemak and it is a traditional way but nowadays people are ordering it anytime of the day. Nasi Lemak is rice cooked in coconut milk, served with hard-boiled egg, peanuts, cucumbers and chili based sauce. Then again, this is famous in Central Malaysia and not so in demand for northern Malaysia which I just found out only couple of weeks ago when I was in Langkawi, Kedah.

The next would be Wan Tan Mee that served with many types of variety… char siew, siew york, chicken feet, roast duck or chicken.

Wan Tan noodles is also popular in Hong Kong, Singapore, Guangzhou and Thailand. Please bear in mind, all prepared and served differently. But the one thing in common and it’s being called Wan Tan noodles is because the served with Wan Tan Dumplings (Soup).

Some of us may have mistaken the Sarawak Noodle (Ko Lo mee) or Hakka Noodle with Wan Tan Mee. The noodle texture may be the same but they ain’t same. The obvious is that Sarawak Noodle does not have Dumplings (Soup) and Hakka Noodle texture is so curl and different.

You may want to know where would be the best place for these 2 ~ Nasi Lemak and Wan Tan Mee?

Honestly, if you are foreigner and first time trying out Nasi Lemak, all stores that serve Nasi Lemak is as good. All are kept up to the standard. Same goes for Wan Tan Mee.

For better quality and nice ambiance on Wan Tan Noodle, you may try Restoran BBQ Soon Hing in Puchong, Petaling Jaya.

Why am I recommending this restaurant?

Simply because I could order my favourite Tim Sim beside Wan Tan Mee ….
