Platycodon Grandiflorus Flower
Platycodon grandiflorus, commonly known as the balloon flower or Chinese bellflower, is a perennial herbaceous plant celebrated for its unique and captivating flowers. The flowers come in shades of blue, purple, and white. These colors are soft and pleasing to the eye.
The petals of the balloon flower are fused at the base, forming a balloon-like or bell-shaped bud. Just before blooming, the "balloon" swells and then pops open to reveal five distinct, star-shaped petals. The leaves of Platycodon grandiflorus are bright green, and they are typically lance-shaped and serrated. The foliage adds to the overall attractiveness of the plant, even when it's not in bloom. The size of the flowers can vary, but they typically measure 2 to 3 inches (5 to 7.5 cm) across. The entire plant usually reaches a height of about 1 to 2 feet (30 to 60 cm).
