Brief history of Music

Music is found in every known culture, past and present, varying widely between times and places all round the world. It's mostly seen as the combination of sounds to make it pleasant to the ears but I see music music as an expression pleasant to the ear having melody or harmony.

The first or earliest forms of music were probably drum-based, percussion instruments being the most readily available at the time. The percussion came in first and they've maintained first rank on the simplest instruments.

Talking about ancient music, Greece was the root of classical arts. Little wonder classical music is rooted in greecian innovations. In 600 BC, a famous mathematician Pythagoras dissected music as a science and he developed the keystone of modern music: the octave scale.

The octave scale, I believe launched us into the new era. Though the octave scale was discovered long ago, it is still very much in use. The piano, the trumpet, saxophone, drums and all musical instruments make use of the octave scale. This leads to the medieval era...
